Another aspect that I noticed was that the levels were much more open, and allowed more on-the-fly strategic opportunities.
Thanks to Col. Antal, one aspect that the Brothers in Arms series does a phenomenal job of is replicating real squad based combat and tactics as used in WWII. This was fleshed out in Road to Hill 30 and has been expanded in the sequel, both in Allied and German forces.
Earlier this year, Ubisoft released Gearbox's Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30, quite possibly the best WWII first-person shooter to hit consoles. The game combined a highly cinematic experience with a revolutionary squad command system, somehow managing to make complex troop movements seem easy.
Brothers in Arms is more than just a game. It?s an experience. Whereas everything else had the sentiments and sensibilities of a comic-book, Brothers in Arms is a novel. I cannot recommend this game any higher.
"Thanks to tons of exhaustive research by the team at Gearbox, you'll feel like you've parachuted into the war zone alongside your teammates. Just about every aspect of the production is top-notch, from the stunning graphics to the realistic, graphic dialogue."
