More and more Hell's Highway features are being spotted across the net every day!  Gamespot has begun posting a series of "Behind the Scenes" videos that will take you beyond screenshots and let you meet the developers and learn about what makes Hell's Highway the experience it is.  The first video examines Operation Market Garden and discusses our commitment to authenticity and telling the story of WWII.  Check it out and stay tuned at Gamespot for new videos!

There's also a new written preview up at Gamespot - a Q&A with writer Mike Neumann.  Read it for answers to questions like "what stories from the war inspired you the most," "where will Baker's story end," and more.

We've also seen a video about destructible cover posted in IGN, which will be posting a series of vignettes about the game and its features, so make sure you don't miss those either!  Check the video out for a look at a feature that you'll come to know and love when you play Hell's Highway!

"Frankly, and we mean this quite sincerely, if this isn't the party game of 2008, we'll eat our sombreros."

Gamasutra posted a rather lengthy interview with Randy that discusses everything from the early days of Gearbox to the industry at large and what it's like running an independent game company.  Check it out for some interesting industry talk!

"I am independent, and I am going to continue to be, because I have two people I have to worry about. I have our customers, and I have our people. If we're in a marathon, and not a sprint, we have to care about our people. It's not enough to make an awesome game. You have to make an awesome game, and then be ready and excited to make the next one even better."

Corrinne Yu, Gearbox's Studio Wide Director of Technology, recently did an interview with PCGH about Borderlands and its technology.  Read on for information about how Gearbox is using Unreal 3 technology (and what changes we've made), DX10, and multi-platform development.
Dasgamer has posted a brief interview with Randy about Hell's Highway - there's a little tidbit of Multiplayer info in there, so check it out!

Today - June 6th, 2008 - is the 64th anniversary of D-Day.  It's important to us at Gearbox to recognize such historical days and the brave individuals who served in WWII.  We've put together the following pieces and hope you will observe this historical moment with us.

From the letter from Colonel John Antal included in the Road to Hill 30 package:

"They say that big doors open on small hinges.  D-Day was a big door and it took paratroopers like Sergeant Matt Baker to make D-Day a success for the Allies.  Squad leaders may represent small hinges in the big scheme of war, but the door to Europe wouldn't open unless brave soldiers like Baker helped kick it in."

The following are some historical pieces that help us remember D-Day.

This audio file is Dwight Eisenhower's D-Day broadcast to Western Europe, where he specifically addresses the people and what they can do, and prepares the way for the Allies to liberate Europe.

In this image, you will see the letter from Eisenhower to the Allied Expeditionary Force:

Gearbox has been popping up a lot recently in gaming news as we gear up for the release of Brothers in Arms Hell's Highway in August.  Gamespot has posted a video "Behind the Games" feature on Gearbox president Randy Pitchford, in which he discusses his own background in games and addresses industry issues like "what makes a game a success," "what would you change about the industry," and "what advice would you offer aspiring game developers?"  Click the link to learn more about the man in charge here at Gearbox!

We all know that Randy is an avid gamer (to put it mildly).  Want proof?  Just check out his XBL tag on his profile page.  When someone plays games that much, you know they've got some good recommendations and many fond memories of games that you may have never heard of before - and now you can check out Randy's very own playlist from GameTap!  Check it out to learn about some of the games that inspire and helped shape Randy's gaming experience!
