Borderlands PC 1.4.2 BTest Update Patch Notes (Steam Only)

  • Implemented new opt-in stat-tracking service, BTest, for Steam players.

    • The result of ongoing work within Gearbox Labs, BTest is a limited-time experiment that offers you the chance to help us tune and improve our games.

    • By choosing to participate in BTest, you help us learn more about the world of Borderlands (what guns are the most popular and effective, what areas are being played the most, etc.) just by playing the game!

    • You will be able to compare your characters to your friends and other players throughout the world through the Gearbox Labs site.

  • Added new EULA and opt-in / opt-out menu choices for BTest functionality.

  • Save games now sync with Steam Cloud for remote backup.

    Detailed during our panel at PAX Prime, BTest is the code-name for an experimental update coming to the Steam version of Borderlands PC on September 9.

    The result of ongoing work within Gearbox Labs, BTest offers you the chance to help us tune and improve our games. By choosing to participate in BTest, you can help us learn more about your favorite parts of Borderlands ...just by playing the game! For example, what guns are the most popular and effective, what areas are being played the most, and exactly how many times your cat walks across the keyboard.

    As an added bonus, BTest also brings Steam Cloud support to Borderlands PC, so you'll never have to worry about a corrupted save or losing your character so long as you have an active internet connection!

    2K Games and Gearbox Software Announce Borderlands™ 2 in Development

    Fans can get their first glimpse of the bold evolution of the Role-Playing Shooter at Gamescom and PAX Prime 2011 this month

    New York, NY – August 3, 2011 – 2K Games and Gearbox Software announced today that the sequel to the extravasplosive breakout hit, Borderlands™, is currently in development at world-renowned developer Gearbox Software. Coming to the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC during Take-Two’s fiscal year 2013 beginning on April 1, 2012, Borderlands 2 is the epic sequel to the ultimate four-player Role-Playing Shooter loot fest. Combining invention and evolution, Borderlands 2 features all new characters, skills, environments, enemies, weapons and equipment, which come together in an ambitiously crafted story.
