Kale M
Bio
Often accused of being a catalyst to the Apocalypse, I've always wanted to be feared rather than merely respected. Too bad I'm a total geek. I'm a Nintendo-whore and devoutly worship Shigeru Miyamoto as my hero. My life consists of my wife, Carrie, art, and video games. Luckily, my Jedi powers (although dark they may be) are more than sufficiently strong enough to perfectly combine all three of those elements (my wife loves my art and plays games almost more than I do). I have no friends (they all hate me because I've actually achieved my goals in life).
Length of time I have been employed in the industry
9 months
Game companies I have worked for
Spidermonk Entertainment, Gearbox Software
Titles I have worked on
Six-Shooter Showdown: Most Wanted (mobile game); Borderlands

Resources I would recommend for those interested in getting into game development (books, tutorials, sites, etc)
The Guildhall (SMU program). Play lots of old-school games, read "Rules of Play", find a mentor or "spiritual guide" (i.e. an idol or someone with footsteps to follow). Try designing a pinball machine.
