Advice
Resources I would recommend for those interested in getting into game development (books, tutorials, sites, etc)
The most important lesson to learn about game development is that all forms of interactive entertainment are founded upon traditional medias. Learning color theory, the prinicpals of animation, lighting, choreography, set design, human anatomy, acting, editing, and many others should come first. These are the springboards into the dynamic world of digital gaming.

First game I remember playing
The first game I recall playing was on the "Sorcerer Exidy" http://oldcomputers.net/sorcerer.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exidy_Sorcerer It was a voice activated precursor to the Tron light cycle game that had the player calling out "LEFT, RIGHT, UP, LEFT, RIGHT" until everyone within a 20 yard radius wanted to smack them in the back of the head. For the life of me I can't remember what it was called but it was truly mind blowing when you're 7.
All-time favorite game
I'm pretty sure this makes me an old man but Ultima 6 was one of the most amazing gaming experiences I've ever had. It's many colorful characters, vast world and tactical combat makes it one of the greats. I'm sure it also had a lot to do with paying for Richards castle. I should probably also credit Myst for comvincing me that it was possible for me to make games.
Non-video gaming hobbies
I'm into Olympic style archery, Mixing, Photography, and LEGO.
Favorite bands/music
I really like unique vocalists. the cure, imogen heap, sarah mclaughlin, depeche mode, elvis costello, probably more. I also listen to a lot of electronic music because it is souless and cold and empty and crap and could be made by a computer if only computers wanted to. At least thats what my friends tell me. Fortunately I don't take them at their word so i still like: hybrid, hooj choons, fat boy slim, distinctive breaks, anything on the "fire" label, BT, paul van dyke, oakenfold, kraftwerk, orbital, etc etc...
