Resources I would recommend for those interested in getting into game development (books, tutorials, sites, etc)
Nerdbooks.com is a great site for all your development book needs. Sorry for the plug, but it's true. I love the place. Their main warehouse is here in Richardson, and it's like a huge dork library - with a soda machine, lounge and everything.

First game I remember playing
Kung Fu on my friend's Nintendo. Played it once, and I was instantly hooked. 18 years later, and the addiction is as strong as it ever was.
All-time favorite game
Skies of Arcadia for the DC by Sega’s Sonic Team and Overworks. In the time where RPGs just kept getting more and more complex, here came along a streamlined, polished, simple RPG with tons of character, story, and a fully explorable world. It was supposed to hold us DC fans over until Grandia 2, but ended up surpassing it. Greatness. It’s also on the GC if you no-Dreamcast-owning heathens would like to give it a try.
Non-video gaming hobbies
Well, I can't say I do much. Compared to games, not much holds my attention very well. In true nerd fashion, I like to get in on Pen & Paper RPGs when I find them. Unfortunately, I haven't found a solid group to join since high school. I read comics, but don't collect them like some people. Is that still a hobby?
