Resources I would recommend for those interested in getting into game development (books, tutorials, sites, etc)
Getting involved in an established mod community. Participate, learn. Give feedback, receive feedback. Be willing to learn from others, seek out help and guidance when you need it. Read, a lot. Read books, tutorials, forums on your field. Strive to create stand-out work that will get you recognized amongst everyone else.
