Programmer Rick J has a somewhat unusual and very impressive collection - more than 50 vintage arcade cabinets.  From classics like Super Mario Bros and Galaga to Dragon's Lair, he's acquired tons (literally in weight) of classic video game arcade units.  Until recently, they were hiding out in storage, cold, lonely, and unplayed in Wisconsin.  Over the holidays, Rick hired a semi and sent the cabinets on the long journey to the Gearbox offices in Dallas.  This week they arrived, and we have some photos of the process.

Happy Holidays, GBX-ers!  No matter what tradition you celebrate, we hope you have a great holiday this year.  We at Gearbox will be spending the next week with friends and loved ones - but don't worry, we'll be back from the break in the new year revitalized!  Gearboxity will resume our once-a-week feature updates on Friday, January 4th.  Until then, season's greetings and a happy new year to you all!

Today is the Gearbox Holiday Party!  As part of our festivities, we have a secret santa gift exchange.  Everyone who wants to participate draws a name, and purchases a gift for the person they draw without revealing their identity.  We always get some really fun (and funny) presents, and everyone has a great time.  This year we also had tons of holiday-themed delicious snacks, from snowman cookies and milk to delicious fudge!  Tonight is our infamous company party - look forward to some more photos next week, and have a happy holiday season, all you GBX-ers!

Since before my employment at Gearbox, Allison has always been insanely busy with work and school (both full-time!). She has done a fantastic job at managing both in parallel. It was definitely not an easy feat, and not something many would successfully complete.

Several of us planned a surprise lunch for her today to honor this profound achievement. She was quite overwhelmed and shocked, to put it mildly!

Congratulations, Allison! Now you finally can do all the things you haven't had time for - like lunch!

Some of the voice actors for Borderlands were in the Gearbox house this week for a round-table reading of the script for the game.  We snuck into the Borderlands conference room and grabbed a couple photos of the crew in action.  A nice behind-the-scenes peek at some of the folks you might hear in the game, but probably wouldn't ever see otherwise!  Here they are, hard at work getting their characters just right for the game:
