The developers at Gearbox are always working hard to produce the best quality games possible. Many of our developers here also take the time to check out what our community (that's you!) has to say about what's going on. We know that your feedback is valuable, and when we can, we like to take the time to pop in and answer what questions we're able to. This feature is for you, the community - catch up on what the devs have been saying and take a look at some of the threads on the forums. We're always happy to have new members and hear what you're thinking, so don't be shy!
Just this week, Randy Pitchford, President of Gearbox, made a post that's been intriguing everyone from the news sites to our own community members. He's looking for talent for a "dream gig" and has put the word out on our forum, which has sparked lots of speculation. Check it out for yourself for full details! What else could Gearbox have lined up?

On the Brothers in Arms front, community members have been waiting patiently for new information about the game. A lot of questions are still up in the air, and though we can't reveal everything quite yet, our devs jumped into a few threads recently to offer up what we can. In the thread "Hell's Highway Graphical Questions... ," HH devs robotboots and Fletch come in and answer questions about parallax mapping, performance, and Unreal 3 as used in HH. In the thread "MGs: belt- or drum-fed ," botman and robotboots talk about technical issues when creating ammo belts. Keep an eye on the Brothers in Arms forums as release draws ever nearer - once we start seeing more information you can be assured that our devs will continue to check in and chat when they can!

Everyone has heard that Aliens is looming up on the horizon, and speculation and wishes have populated the Aliens forum since it opened when we announced the game. The community is drooling over the idea of finally seeing the game for some time, and is very concerned about the game's attention to detail. In the thread, "...Use the Technical Manual ," wieder assures the fans that the team goes to great lengths to ensure the details are right. Many of the developers on Aliens are longtime hardcore fans, no need to fear! In another thread, a forum user noticed a post on wieder's own website regarding the Aliens team, largely focused on hiring, but mentioning the game is "shaping up to be a totally kickass Aliens experience." Rock on, Aliens team!

Since we announced it last year around the time of the Leipzig Games Convention, Borderlands has been receiving a lot of attention from all over the gaming world. If you haven't seen the teaser trailer yet, make sure to check it out (it's also available on Xbox Live!). Two interesting polls have been posted on the forum, which the developers have also responded to. Check out "What platform will you get Borderlands for?" and "Which character do you think you'll prefer?" and vote - polls give us an interesting look at the early impressions from our community! Keep your eye open at the Borderlands forums as more information begins to appear! As a bonus, here's my personal favorite post recently from the "Endgame Speculation" thread.
A topic that comes up frequently is about getting into the game industry - what kind of education should you have, what should you do, and how do you get in? Recently a thread "What college majors can work for Gearbox? " was posted, and received some developer response. Check it out, and if you think you have the chops to work for Gearbox, check out our employment pages!
Thanks for checking out our community spotlight, and as always, feel free to jump in and join the Gearbox community - we'll be glad to have you!
