Community Spotlight

It's time to venture into the Gearbox Forums and check out what our community is up to!  Let's find out what's getting them talking and what our devs have to say!

hell's highway

Hell's Highway

The fans are really starting to anticipate Hell's Highway!  As the E3 buzz dies down, eyes are turned towards September, when the game will finally be in the players' hands.  There are a few tidbits from E3 still rolling around, such as a video interview with Brian Thomas, cinematic designer.  GamingExcellence has also posted their post-E3 impressions of the game, and like everyone else who's had a chance to play it, they're excited for the game!  Colonel Antal's Brothers in Arms novel is now available as well, so while you're waiting for Hell's Highway you can still get your BiA fix!  Reader reviews are very positive!  Going to buy Hell's Highway for the 360?  Some of our community members are befriending each other on Live to organize multiplayer - join up and play with other Gearbox fans!  Also, thanks to member Soules75 for posting this very positive thread - I know the devs thank you, too!

Borderlands

Borderlands director Matt A (aka HellFace) has been active on the forums recently, and has made some very informative posts regarding weapons in the game.  If you missed these posts, he talks about the challenges to procedurally generating weapons and how Borderlands is approaching it.  In another post, he talks more about how you'll be able to know nearly everything about a Borderlands gun just by looking at it!  In case you missed it, Shacknews posted a post-E3 interview about the game with Randy Pitchford and Marc Tardif that has some good info!  Gamespot posted their own impressions of the game as well.  What platform do you intend to purchase Borderlands for?  Vote in this thread and let us know!

aliens

Aliens: Colonial Marines

Have heart, Aliens fans!  Even though A:CM didn't appear on the E3 showfloor this year, there's no need to feel down; Sega's Simon Jeffery hints at saving Aliens for "something special" in a just a few months in this video interview!  In the meantime, if you didn't catch the brief article and new screenshots on Shacknews, check them out to tide you over!  OXM has posted a short preview of the game, so read it and make sure you haven't missed any bits of info, and if you hunger for even more, jump into our Aliens forum.  Anticipation is building and there are plenty of fun threads to check out, like the Aliens Fanart thread!

samba

Samba de Amigo

Before you know it, Samba will be out there on shelves!  The game received the honor of being IGN's top music/rhythm game from E3 2008, and we can't wait for the reviews to start rolling in.  We know that everyone's going to love the game!  There were a few new screens released from E3, and make sure you've watched all the videos hosted at Gametrailers!
